Golden Beach

Sunshine Coast hotels

Golden Beach is a suburb of Caloundra. It is a town that has had huge growth since 2000. Many holiday apartments have been built to cater for the rising number of tourists visiting each year. Winning the Sunshine Coast Clean Beach Challenge and Do The Right Thing litter prevention awards in 2008, highlight the community’s respect for this tranquil environment that hugs the shores of the Pumicestone Passage.

Settlement of Golden Beach dates from the late 19th century, with land used mainly for farming and grazing. Development of the suburb started from the 1950s, with rapid growth from the 1960s into the 1980s.

Golden Beach is just perfect for boating, fishing and swimming in calmer waters to those of Caloundra’s nearby surf beaches. A coastal path winds its way to central Caloundra passing shady barbecue areas close to playgrounds that will keep the children occupied for hours. Boaties will find some excellent boat ramp facilities to launch their craft.
