Bli Bli

Bli Bli is a small community which is situated a few kilometres inland from the Maroochy area. It is now a small residential community, and is minutes from the Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore, Mudjimba Beach and the Bruce Highway.

Bli Bli rises above the wetlands, which were for many years the home of the Sugar Cane Industry. From the early 1970s until recent times, Bli Bli was most notable for the "fairy tale" castle that has been built as a tourist attraction in the village.

Take a cruise through the Maroochy Wet Lands Sanctuary, or walk the boardwalks through the swamps and mangroves. Make sure you have insect repellent on though. Wheelchair access is provided via the boardwalk for part of the way.

Visit the Sunshine Castle and its many medieval features, including drawbridge and moat, dungeon, and torture chamber. Also located at Sunshine Castle is a doll museum featuring animated dancing dolls and dolls in national costume. Other things to do here are: Animal Watching, Birdwatching, Camping, Canoeing, Cycling, Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Shopping, Skiing – Water, Surfing Sunshine Castle, the Castle is filled with medieval displays and other exhibitions that you are able to explore at your own pace by walking around. Children are sent on a Treasure Hunt and are able to choose a free treat from the King s treasure upon successful completion of their quest.

The fully licensed castle café serves delicious food, fit for a king and the menu includes anything from a coffee and cake deal to a hearty Lamb shank. The Bli Bli markets are held at the Castle on the first and third Saturday of the month.

Sun Coast Cable Water sports Park, boasts world class kickers and sliders to suit all skill levels from beginner’s right up to advanced. This allows everyone the opportunity to take their riding to the next level. All you need is your bathers and a towel. Minutes from Mooloolaba and home to some of the world’s best Cable Wakeboarders there is over 50 acres with a pristine lake and a state of the art cable machine just waiting for you to enjoy the best wakeboarding has to offer.

Suncoast Barra Fishing Park: the Barra Park is conveniently located right next door to Suncoast Cable Watersports (formerly Ski n Skurf) and is only a 10 minute drive from Maroochydore. At Suncoast Barra Fishing Park, you can catch yourself a Barramundi! You will be provided with the ultimate fishing experience as you endeavour to catch one of the most sought after fish in the world - the Barramundi. Fully stocked with Barramundi, Whiting, Bream, Mangrove Jack, Trevally and Snapper, this salt-water fishing park is a great place to experience the thrill of catch and release.
